After 29 years serving the mechanical design industries in the UK, I am writing to inform you that Micro Concepts Ltd has been acquired by Autodesk Platinum Partner, Excitech Limited.
Micro Concepts was formed in 1989 by a team of experienced engineering consultants, to provide the latest computer-aided solutions to the mechanical design industries. Specialising in the provision of engineering design, simulation and consultancy solutions, our goal was to build long term partnerships based on a deep understanding of our customers’ businesses.
In recent years, however, the Autodesk reseller market has become increasingly competitive, with smaller resellers like us coming under continued margin pressures. We became concerned that longer term we wouldn’t be able to continue to deliver the specialised resources and solutions that our customers across the UK need.
We felt the best option to ensure our customers continued to enjoy high levels of service was to join forces with a larger reseller. We began discussions with Excitech as they have a long history servicing the manufacturing, engineering and construction industries, they are an Autodesk platinum partner, and both organisations place a premium on building long lasting partnerships with their customers. This, combined with their unrivalled expertise and knowledge in the CAD market, made them the obvious choice.
Founded in 1985, Excitech employs over 130 people, generating revenues in excess of £31m. Based in Enfield (North London), with additional training facilities in London and Leeds, they were one of the first partners of Autodesk in the UK and are an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre (ATC).
Excitech has extensive knowledge and expertise around the Autodesk portfolio, in addition to a comprehensive range of training and support solutions. They currently support over 3,200 customers across the UK, ranging from small independent businesses to large corporates, with a number of those operating in the manufacturing and engineering industries.
Excitech has also developed specialist expertise in providing support, advice and solutions in the areas of IT, Document Management and Facilities Management to deliver a complete service for an effective and productive CAD and modelling environment.
I will be joining Excitech, along with the rest of the Micro Concepts team, so you can rest assured the service we deliver you will not be impacted in any way. We will continue to operate out of our Cambridge Office, and our contact details will remain the same.
