Autodesk Keynote Presentation

2007 and 2008 has seen unprecedented development of the Autodesk Digital Prototyping Solution. Key acquisitions combined with development and integration of existing facets and features brings the realisation of true digital prototyping within the reach of EVERY business.

Inventor 2009 Tips & Tricks

Inventor 2009 offers significant increases in productivity especially in the core design tools that you use every day. Autodesk have listened to and gained feedback from many users as they put this release together and many of the improvements are a direct result of that input. Inventor 2009 is easier to use and more powerful than ever providing a more accurate digital prototype so you can understand how your design will perform before you build it.

To help experienced Inventor users understand the hundreds of enhancements, that enable even more innovation and reduce barriers to productivity, we have three separate tips and tricks sessions:

Session 1

Sketching enhancements and changes in the part design environment as a direct result of user feedback provide significant enhancements to the traditional Inventor parametric design methods. New and improved design accelerators enhance functional design allowing you more opportunity to further design and validate using engineering methods, skills and knowledge.

Session 2

Inventor continues to include a vast and extensive library of content and features, readily and instantly accessible. Inventor 2009 enhances and extends this key resource and further increases its significance for every user. This session will highlight the pertinent new features and additional content, in particular the new sheet metal content area.

Additional enhancements in the area of sheet metal design will also be highlighted in this session.

Session 3

Lights, cameras, and plenty of action, the Inventor 2009 studio environment has been further enhanced to enable more presentation materials to be generated without leaving the Inventor environment or requiring additional tools and applications.
User feedback has once again had the biggest direct impact on the drawing environment resulting in even greater functionality and flexibility which we will guide you through in this session.

These tips and tricks sessions are the precursor to our Inventor update training courses throughout the year. Silver contract holders are automatically entitled to attend the Inventor update course at the time of choice.

The Autodesk Digital Prototyping Solution

Evolve the Way You Think About Your Design Process - The Autodesk Digital Prototyping Solution enables manufacturing workgroups to create a single digital model that can be used in every stage of production, bridging the gaps that usually exist between conceptual design, engineering, and manufacturing teams. It provides the technology to help manufacturers build fewer physical prototypes, reducing design and production costs.

Innovative Assembly Design With Inventor 2009

Digital prototypes of large scale designs demand the ability to construct and manage large assemblies which can run to tens or even hundreds of thousands of parts. This session introduces the new concepts that further facilitate large assembly design, including performance optimization and component substitution, alongside other advances in assembly design innovation – custom frame generator profiles and further dynamic simulation integration being just two.

Key Developments in Graphics, Operating Systems and Hardware

Vista, 64 bit, Quad core, Direct X 10, and other techno blurb that we hear but don’t always understand. What are they and more importantly what is the relevance to me? A question often asked but rarely answered without further techno baffle that only seems to be there to confuse us.

Fortunately for this session we have Rob Jamieson from ATI AMD to cut through the usual waffle and present the latest developments and advances in terms we can all understand. Thus enabling us to make sensible qualified decisions on what is of benefit to us and when.

Taking Control of Your Data – Vault and Productstream 2009 Enhancements

The right information, at the right time, to the right people; the key requirement at the core of digital prototyping. Without proper management our data can spiral out of control. Integral to the Autodesk solution Vault and Productstream give us the flexibility and control required enabling us to concentrate on our designs.

Improvements to the upcoming vault and Productstream highlighted in this session include Search Improvements, New Indexing Engine, Active Directory Integration, SharePoint Integration, ECO Process Updates, and the best Inventor and AutoCAD Integration yet. If you’re not already using Vault and Productstream this session will prompt you to question why not?

Interoperability with the Autodesk Digital Prototyping 2009 Solution

No man is an island and when it comes to our design data, nothing could be truer. Whether sharing our data or consuming data from elsewhere we each have different needs and requirements. Removing data islands and having connected data in the form and function that meets our business process requirements is key to the massive gains that can be made through our digital prototyping philosophy.

Through a unique medium this session will highlight the issues faced in sharing and translation, and look at how these are addressed in the Autodesk solution now and the possibilities for the future.

Summary

Our usual round up session emphasises the further value the Micro Concepts team continue to add to the Autodesk solution via our contract program, making the technology work for you. This year’s highlights include our newly certified version of Inventor Tools, fully compatible and upgraded for Inventor 2009, and the introduction of our new web seminar training program.
